First Line Friday – A Girl's Guide to the Outback

Happy Friday, reader friends! Jessica Kate and I are taking you right to the heart of Australia for today’s First Line Friday–a heart that’s being severely tested at the moment as bushfires ravage our beautiful country. Those of us who live in large cities and built-up areas have been relatively safe from the fires, although air quality has been severely compromised at times, but other parts of our country, including many of our beautiful small towns and rural areas have been gutted. And so have our hearts.

But the Aussie spirit, like our hardy outback, is resilient. Adversity may knock us down for a time, but we always come back stronger than before. And the outpouring of love and support from our friends around the world has meant more than I can say. Thank you for your prayers, your concern, and your generosity.

And so, before I get any more carried away by patriotic sentimentality, today’s FLF post raises its glass and says: Here’s to the indomitable Aussie spirit! ❤

PS – A Girl’s Guide to the Outback releases 28 January, so there’s still time to pre-order your copy!

We invite you to join us in supporting, honouring, and celebrating Australia as readers and as compassionate people. Share below (or feature on your First Line Fridays post this week or next) a book written by an Aussie author or set in Australia! Remember those who have been affected by the devastating bushfires sweeping across their beloved country.
