Cristina straightened the strap of her attaché case and strode down the corridor. The heels of her pumps sounded in the marble hall.

This book is on my wishlist but you can read Carrie’s review at Reading Is My SuperPower!

  1. My friend, I am about to have the best weekend EVER, because I’m going to Melbourne to visit Rel for the weekend! I think you can probably guess how bookish our weekend is going to be! 🙂

I’m featuring the first line from Susan May Warren’s ‘Storm Front’ on my blog, but right now I’m going to give you the first line from ‘A Worthy Groom’ by Angela K. Couch, which is part of ‘The Backcountry Brides Collection’:

“The first shovelful of dirt struck Samuel’s crude hickory box, but Lorinda Cowden didn’t flinch.”

  2. My weekend won’t be super bookish although I’ll have a car ride that will probably include some reading since I won’t have to drive! YAY! Thank goodness that I don’t get car sick.

My nearest book is my debut novel that I’m supposed to be proofreading… (hahah eep).

“Today would have gone so much better in my paisley tights.” Teal Paisley Tights by Barbara Brutt (eep!)

      • EEeeee! Thank you! Super freaked out but also so excited. 🙂 I don’t have a cover yet, but apparently I’ll have it some time this month. This is mind boggling.

  3. “At the sound of a footfall behind her, Cady Matthew’s back muscles tightened faster than a mousetrap snapping its prey.” – I am reading Christy Barritt’s “Lantern Beach Series” (in between new releases) and this quote is from “Hidden Currents”. I love these kinds of books!

  4. Happy Friday! My first line is from Storm Front (Montana Rescue Book #5) by Susan May Warren:

“Ty Remington blamed the homemade orange marmalade cake for why he found himself huddled under an overhang off some faraway path in Glacier National Park, shivering, praying he might live through the night.”

  5. I don’t have any weekend plans other than to curl up with Pepper Basham’s books! I may have a slight crush on Reese. ❤

I'm featuring Pepper Basham's, "A Twist of Faith" on my blog today. Since I have Lindsay Harrel's, "The Heart Between Us" in front of me, I'll share my first line from here.

"Amy says in order to move forward, I have to stop clinging to past."

Have a great weekend and happy reading!

  6. I hope there is lots of reading in my weekend!

My first lines come from A.L. Jackson’s Lead Me Home.

“I’d always wondered why people set themselves up for disaster. Why they put their heart on the line when they knew it would only be crushed. Why they led themselves toward the slaughter like a blind, ignorant lamb. Willingly.”

I’m featuring lines from Tess Thompson’s Deleted: Jackson and Maggie on my blog. I’m about half way through and absolutely in love with this story and the characters. Stop by and take a look!

  7. Happy Friday!
The book I’m sharing on my blog is The Road Home by Beverly Lewis but here I’ll share the book I just finished today called A Higher Ransom by Aleigha C Israel: “Anna Haddington took a deep breath of the salty air.”
